Kyondoni Mixed Day Secondary School was founded in 2012 as a community initiative to cater for the needy students who could not afford high boarding school fees.
The school was registered in April, 2012 as a public mixed day sec. school. Following its registration, TSC deployed GRACE M. NZIA to be the pioneer Principal. In September 2013, MRS ALICE MUTHUI was deployed as the pioneer Deputy Principal.
Currently the school has over 10 TSC teachers. The school has a current student population of 160. The current BOM is chaired by Mr. Enoch K. Wambua.
The School is located three kilometres from Kabati town off the Kitui-Mwingi road; in Kitui West District. The pioneer class of 2015 had a mean of 5.176 with two students joining the University.
Since then, the school has grown in leaps and bounds and has managed to take over 100 students to the university.
